Map to Police Department

Welcome to the Eagan Police Department Web page.  The department staff hopes that visitors to the site will find it useful in learning about the department and accessing its services.  In addition to basic information on the department's structure and operational units, this site provides access to updated information on major incidents through press releases and summary data contained in the Eagan Police Department annual report.  The department regularly provides a police newlsetter, The Blue Blotter, which gives a glimpse of the daily activity handled by staff.

Since its founding in 1965, the Eagan Police Department has evolved from a Chief and two part-time officers, handling the needs of a small village, to a full-service agency consisting of  69 sworn (full-time) officers along with a combination of 16 full/part-time support staff. The department manages over 50,000 calls for service each year in Minnesota’s 8th largest city.

The Eagan Police Department enjoys a well earned reputation for professionalism and responsiveness to the needs of the community.  The key to its success is in hiring high quality officers and support staff while providing them with excellent training, equipment and supervision.  No matter what their rank or assignment, all members of the department staff work in support of the Eagan Police Department mission.

To work in partnership with the community to:
Arrest offenders,
Prevent Crime,
Solve Problems, and
Improve the overall quality of life in Eagan.
