Market Fest 2010 Schedule of Events & Visitor Information
Market Fest is a weekly summer event that brings the community together featuring local fresh produce, hand-crafted artisan items, live entertainment, activities for all ages and more.
Market Fest Weekly Highlights
- Farmer’s Market
- Artisan Booths
- Free Live music, performers or demonstrations each week
- Free Make & Take Kid’s Art Projects at the Eagan Art House Tent
- Free Children’s Activities (bubbles, sidewalk chalk art, and more)
- Free Children’s playground adjacent to Rotary Band Shell entertainment stage
- Concession stand open for beverages and snacks
- Themed activities for all ages on designated weeks
- Walking trails at Central Park and the Market Fest area
- Bring your own picnic and blanket
Produce Availability
- Produce is typically picked the same morning/afternoon as the Market Fest event for the freshest choices.
- Local produce is a seasonal crop with harvest determined by planting time, weather conditions and nature. Produce availability may vary week to week based on the local growing season and mother nature. Visit the market often for new selections through out the season.
Weather Policy for Market Fest
- Event held rain or shine. In case of severe weather, the event may be held inside the Eagan Community Center.
- Call Eagan Parks & Recreation hotline at (651) 675-5511 press #1 for a weather update the day of the event. Decisions to move the event indoors are made at 2:00 pm – once indoor/outdoor status is determined, it will not change after 2:00 pm. You may also contact the Eagan Community Center at (651) 675-5550.
- In case of severe weather (lightening, high winds) the grounds may temporarily be cleared under the direction of the Market Fest Coordinator. In that case, vendors and attendees will be asked to seek safety in their vehicles or inside the Eagan Community Center until the severe weather passes.
Payment Transactions
- All vendors accept cash.
- Some vendors may accept checks or credit cards at their own risk.
- Market Fest does not participate in the WIC or food assistance programs.
- All transactions are between customer and vendor. The City of Eagan is not involved in any transactions except those at the city-run concession stand.
Market Fest and Eagan Parks & Recreation Information Booth
- Located at the entrance to the Festival Grounds, pick up information on Market Fest or Eagan Parks & Recreation programs, ask questions, sign up for the Market Fest e-mail Newsletter or give feedback/suggestions.
Restroom Facilities
- Restrooms, including handicap facilities are located inside the Eagan Community Center.
Event Parking
- Several permanent handicap parking spaces are available in the lower parking lot. Additional temporary handicap parking is added only on Wednesdays for the event.
- Overflow parking for all attendees is available at the upper community center parking lot or at Argosy University across the street.
